ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTANT
(GENEREL LEDGER)
WHO ARE WE?
This role focuses on performing accounting, financial close activities and results analysis for the Coop legal entity (including Treasury), posting transactions and communicating with internal counterparties. The position prepares reconciliations to the general ledger during the month and according to strict calendar deadlines during the month-end close. The role also includes ad-hoc and project work connected with continual process and systems improvements.
Accounting of COOP treasury – 60%
Prepare account reconciliations for assigned accounts such as prepaid and accruals – 20%
Journal preparation and entry – 15%
Special projects, input to audit requests and other ad hoc tasks – 5%
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily accounting: monitoring treasury bank transactions, daily general ledger transaction accounting/posting, compilation of daily financial position reports
- Weekly reconciliation & alignment of intercompany cash-pool transactions and Treasury bank accounts
- Monthly and quarterly accounts closing: prepare and operate entity close calendar in line with Corporate guidance, own COOP treasury accounts, liaise with and own communication to other contributors to ensure quality, reviewed accounts are delivered in line with reporting deadlines
- Preparation of quarterly results deck and financial information for Treasury for Corporate head office in line with US GAAP
- Producing and analysing monthly results of key p&l account lines for Treasury ( e.g. FX and bank Interest)
- Liaises with external and internal auditors, provides inputs & explanations to auditor data requests
- Maintains the entity control documentation
- Participation in projects
- Proactively identifies and delivers improvements to financial processes in their own work area, the wider Treasury Operation group and the global cashpool participants. Develops and monitors KPIs to measure and drive improvement of process effectiveness

- Ability to prioritise work and respond appropriately to urgent matters
- Background in multinational group company
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or Dutch equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience in a financial accounting role
- Treasury background is useful
